To Know with Certainty: Answers to Christian Students’ Questions Upon Leaving High School by G. Lee Southard ASIN: B074TGMWW9

This is a really great resource for any high school senior getting ready to embark on college.  I remember the days when I was attending the University of South Carolina. Here is a school in the Bible Belt where several of my professors were hellbound to tell us impressionable young students about the “Christian Myth”.

I wish I had had this resource back then.  To Know with Certainty: Answers to Christian Students’ Questions Upon Leaving High School by G. Lee Southard is incredibly well-written and well-researched.  We give it all five stars.

Five Star Review

I have been a Christian for many years and learned many things from To Know with Certainty.  If you are a young Christian who is about to embark on a college career, you need this book.  Churches should give this to all their high school seniors.

Unfair Secrets of Hypnotic Selling with NLP: A Sales Manual by Franz Anton Mesmer II ASIN: B0052AEMAM

I have read Unfair Secrets of Hypnotic Selling with NLP: A Sales Manual by Franz Anton Mesmer II three times now.  When I first read it, I gave it four out of five stars because I felt it got a little off topic.

However, I would like to say that “I was wrong.”  I now understand where Mesmer II was going with the speeches he included.  I don’t know if he updated the book or not. I read it in the Kindle version so that is possible.  Or, I updated my mind.

It is equally possible that I have learned a great deal more about the mind since my first reading of the book and can now apply it better.

As most of my readers know, I read a great deal about NLP, psychology, and hypnosis.  Unfair Secrets of Hypnotic Selling with NLP: A Sales Manual by Franz Anton Mesmer II contains elements from all of that, and a little more.

Five Star Review

I give this book all five stars now.  Perhaps this is the kind of book one needs to ponder for a while before one can appreciate it.

I think that any student of the mind will thoroughly enjoy this book.  I also think that some will find it a little hard to appreciate all the author is saying, just like I did the first few times.

My advice is to read Unfair Secrets of Hypnotic Selling with NLP: A Sales Manual by Franz Anton Mesmer II, then go on to something else for a few months and come back and reread it.  I think ideas have to gel in one’s mind.

What do you think?

I was wondering if any of our readers would like to weigh in on a discussion.  Believe it or not, some discussions still take place offline.

In our small town, we have several convenience stores that are owned by one family.  There are two brothers-in-law that both run convenience stores. One guy owns both of the stores.  The owner brother runs one store and his brother-in-law runs the other.

One of the two goes to the bank, makes a deposit of checks, and then takes many thousands of dollars out.  He hides the money various places.

When he gets to his store, he looks around carefully then goes to the door, unlocks it, steps inside and immediately locks the door.  He then goes inside a locked booth and places the cash in a secure safe and only keeps enough out in the locked booth to cash a few checks.

The other one goes to the bank just the same. He deposits checks, takes out cash, and then carries the money bag out of the bank in plain sight.  He places it on his car seat and drives across town.

He goes across town, unlocks his store, does not lock it, then he goes to his counter, places most of the money in the register and the rest he leaves within easy reach under the counter.  There are no locks and he does not bother to secure his cash.

Pretty much everyone knows that both stores have cash.  That is not the question. Everyone knows that both brothers-in-law cash checks.

The conversation centers around this.  It is a crime either way to take a gun and hold up either brother-in-law and take his money.  Which one is most likely to fall victim to an armed robbery? And, if both are robbed, which brother-in-law is most likely to be paid off by the insurance company?

Both brothers-in-law have reason to believe they will fall victim to an armed robbery.  It is just as bad to rob one as to rob the other. In both cases, the brother-in-law does not want to be robbed.

Both have been robbed numerous times.  Of the two, which one do you think has been robbed more often? Which of the two do you think has lost the most money?  Could either of them be, at least partially, at fault for the robbery?

If you would like for me to pray for you, please drop me an e-mail by clicking prayer.

Healing the Nation by Tom Donnan ISBN: 978-158169473-4

If your prayer life needs a little defibrillation, Healing the Nation might just be the jump start for you. You may find yourself praying for yourself, your family, your church, your community, and the nation.

Not only does Donnan tell stories of prophetic dreams, he also tells of some pretty awesome answered prayers.

We think it is a very interesting circumstance that a book on Texit is just one book away on our “to be read list”.  This is either ironic or, as we suspect, God ordained. Healing the Nation speaks of a revival in the great state of Texas. It also talks about the erosion of the United States.

Healing the Nation is very well-written and obviously heartfelt.  We think it deserves six stars. One thing we are very sure of is that most people who read this will find themselves praying often as they read through the book.

Stranger No More: A Muslim Refugee’s Story of Harrowing Escape, Miraculous Rescue, and the Quiet Call of Jesus by Annahita Parsan and Craig Borlase ISBN: 978-0-7180-9572-7

If your heart needs a faith lift, Stranger No More may just well be what the doctor ordered.

This book takes us from a journey when the author was very young all the way past the loss of a loving husband, through a terrible second husband who was evil incarnate, and then on to becoming a Christian and later a pastor.

You need to hold onto your box of tissues while you read this book.  You will hear of strangers who show wonderful kindness and those close to her show unspeakable horrors.

We follow her through life in prison, and so much more.  You will see God shine through it all and perform many miracles.  This is one of those books you will tell others, “You’ve got to read this!”

We give Stranger No More all five stars.  It is well-written and exciting, in both a good and a bad way.  You will hang on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put the book down.

Get two copies so you can share.
