This is a fictional story about a nurse who signs on to help an ill woman stay home, rather than live out her last days in a hospital away from home.

This is more than just a fictional story.  It is a wonderful way to present Jesus as He is worshipped in small town U.S.A. everyday.

As in most stories, everyone is not what or whom they seem to be. There are secrets just waiting to be found out and adventure.  The story also has some very funny moments as readers learn more about salvation.

We have reviewed investment books that compared investing to baseball, golf, basketball, and other sports but, this is the first to compare planning for retirement to running a marathon. This analogy works very well.

The Race Of Your Life is very well-written and easy to understand.  Heck, even this ol’ redneck understood it and I get out of breath walking from my recliner to the supper table.  We give it all five stars.

If you have no idea about how to invest, you may want to start with some more instructive books such as Master Your Cash Flow by Al Zdeneck, Jr. or The Financial Briefing by Eric Hutchinson. However, if you need a good common-sense guide to planning for retirement, The Race Of Your Life works very nicely.

By now almost everyone has heard of alternative treatments for cancer.  Helvie addresses many of these alternatives, but continues to warn his readers to consult their healthcare provider before starting any treatment/preventative.

Reducing Your Cancer Risk is primarily an accumulation of links to different sources for further information, along with some basic information and explanations regarding the subject area discussed.

The great thing about this book is it is meant to be updated by the various websites it is linked to.  The basic information probably will not change, but research and development will change what we know.

We just finished reading a media copy of the book Texit: Why and How Texas Will Leave the Union by Daniel Miller.  This book will be available 21 April 2018.

We have to say that Miller answers most, if not all, of the questions we had regarding what will happen when we Texans decide to vote to leave the union of states. Not “IF”, “WHEN”.

Texit is very well-written and very well-researched.  Miller is right there in the middle of the debate and has heard the inevitable questions that one asks themselves regarding Texit and how it will work.

No matter which side, if either, of the issue of Texit one falls on, they owe it to themselves to read this book to learn more about what is going on in Texas.

Texit is easy to read and well thought out.  It is a good source for talking points and answers a lot of the questions of why?  

Most Texans would love to have the Ten Commandments back on the court house grounds.  We could put them back after a Texit.

We were told we had to allow TSA agents to pat us down and take liberties no one should take with any other person.  We actually proposed a law here in Texas that made it illegal for strip searches and pat downs by TSA. The U. S. government then informed us there would be no flights into or out of Texas if that law were passed. I am really surprised we didn’t pass it anyway.

There are so many reasons for Texas to leave the union and no good reasons to stay.  No matter what you believe on the issue of Texit, you need to buy yourself a copy of Texit.

This is a really great resource for any high school senior getting ready to embark on college.  I remember the days when I was attending the University of South Carolina. Here is a school in the Bible Belt where several of my professors were hellbound to tell us impressionable young students about the “Christian Myth”.

I wish I had had this resource back then.  To Know with Certainty: Answers to Christian Students’ Questions Upon Leaving High School by G. Lee Southard is incredibly well-written and well-researched.  We give it all five stars.
