Book Review: Prancie's Prayer by Ellen J. Pilch Illustrated by Nicolas Peruzzo ISBN: 978-1-61225-407-4

By now all of our readers know that we here at McClendon Villa are animal lovers.  That is why we love Prancie's Prayer by Ellen J. Pilch, which was illustrated by Nicolas Peruzzo. It is such a wonderful story. It shows that animals are part of the Kingdom, too.

This story is Christian-based. It takes place around Christmas, so it would make a wonderful Christmas present, or early Christmas present, for your kids.

This very heartwarming story is extremely well-written and the illustrations are magnificent.  We give it all five stars and a can of tuna. You are looking for a great gift for your young child. You could not do better than Prancie's Prayer.

We were sent a complimentary copy of this book.  We are under no obligation to write any review, positive or negative.

Book Review: ForbesBooks: Master Your Cash Flow: The Key To Grow And Retain Wealth by Albert J. Zdenek Jr CPA/PFS ISBN: 978-1-59932-713-6

Master Your Cash Flow by Albert J. Zdenek, Jr., CPA/PFS is geared more for a higher income level audience than we normally address via our How to Manage Your Monkey blog.
That being said, we think it is an important read for anyone who hopes to someday get out of the level of hardcore poor and get up to the level of needing a financial advisor.
Let’s face it, our target audience is not made up of the type of people who go out and buy cases of wine that they never open.  Hopefully, our normal audience abstains from any type of intoxicating beverage.
If you are this level of poor, chances are good you are more likely to encounter Wine in a Box than you are any type of wine that actually comes with a cork.
The Author, Albert J. Zdenek, Jr., does give us some insight we can use as we get out of the level of hardcore poor and up to the level of The Millionaire next door.
Mr.  Zdenek implies in some of his lead up to Master Your Cash Flow that he is going to give us some comparisons regarding the choice to purchase or lease a new vehicle.  We were interested to learn what he had to say about this comparison. We were looking for it, but never saw it.
There are some very interesting differences of opinion in the book from what you have heard and will hear on How to Manage Your Monkey.  We take more of a Dave Ramsey approach in that it makes more sense to pay off your mortgage and not have to have the interest payments.
However, Mr. Zdenek makes a compelling case to take out a mortgage and invest the proceeds from said mortgage.  We don’t agree with his philosophy but, let’s face it, he has more money than we have. It might be good to read Master Your Cash Flow and make up your own mind.
On our scale of zero to five stars with zero being terrible and five being outstanding and a must read, we give Master Your Cash Flow all five stars.

Master Your Cash Flow is very well written.  It is easy to follow and the numbers make sense.
We do, however, suggest that you also read The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D Danko, The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton, Hardcore Poor by Kelly Sangree, and Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey.  All of these books have a slightly different approach to the same question of handling your finances.
One of the best pieces of advice offered in the book, and is repeated often throughout Master Your Cash Flow, is to work with the experts.  No one can be an expert in all areas.
It is very sound to suggest working with your CPA, estate planning attorney, financial planner, and others as you see the need.  Just stay away from taking advice from your brother-in-law Bud.

Quantum Success: 7 Essential Laws for a Thriving, Joyful, and Prosperous Relationship with Work and Money by Christy Whitman ISBN: 978-1-9821-0247-0 ASIN: B07CL5RBG6

By now, we have read countless books about, or related to, the Law of Attraction (LOA). Quantum Success: 7 Essential Laws for a Thriving, Joyful, and Prosperous Relationship with Work and Money by Christy Whitman is how a New York Times best selling author (multiple times) addresses the Law of Attraction.

One question people may have about the Law of Attraction is why is a pair of Christian bloggers talking about such things as The Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction is primarily about mindset and believing the desired outcome is taking place, and then seeing the desired outcome happen.

The New International Version of the Holy Bible reads as follows:

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24

There are countless other examples in the Bible where we are told that believing will make it so. To the best of my understanding, The Law of Attraction is not contrary to Biblical teachings (David).

We give Quantum Success all five stars. We think it is a readable book with many examples from previous authors and think you will enjoy it.

Passive Income Beginner's Guide: A complete guide step by step to how to jump into these business affairs (Blogging, E-commerce,Cryptocurrency, Dropshipping, Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing) by Mark J. Cooper ASIN B07CQVJF9N

This book provides readers a brief explanation about several different ways of creating a passive income.  As the author explains, there is still some work involved. The passive part comes from the idea that once the initial work is done, there is a minimal amount of work that should be done from time to time.

We give Passive Income Beginner's Guide all five stars.  It is well-written and well thought out.

We were received a  complimentary copy of this book through a Kindle promotion.  We are under no obligation to write any review, positive or negative.

Ninja Foodi: The Pressure Cooker that Crisps: Complete Cookbook for Beginners: Your Expert Guide to Pressure Cook, Air Fry, Dehydrate, and More by Kenzie Swanhart ISBN: 978-1-64152-274-8

Available September 25, 2018

We do not have a Ninja Foodi at McClendon Villa.  When we were sent a review copy of Ninja Foodi: The Pressure Cooker that Crisps: Complete Cookbook for Beginners: Your Expert Guide to Pressure Cook, Air Fry, Dehydrate, and More by Kenzie Swanhart, we had to evaluate it based on the question, “Are these instructions easy enough for David, who has very limited skills in the kitchen, to follow?”

The answer to that question is a resounding, yes. These recipes are clear and easy to follow.  They have enough detail to tell first-time users of the Ninja Foodi how to use it and what attachments to use to make each dish.

These easy to understand recipes list all the ingredients needed, prep time, different cook times and temperatures, detailed instructions along with serving information regarding serving size, calories, etc.

If we had a Ninja Foodi, we would take it into the kitchen of McClendon Villa and demonstrate. Perhaps we will get one soon.
